Yes. The housing is IP55-rated — waterproof and dust-resistant — so the Ufeed50DSMini works both indoors and outdoors all year round.

Small dog breeds and cats. The model is designed for small kibble of 1–5 mm, so it is also ideal for birds and fish.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is required for remote control and scheduling via the TuyaSmart app (iOS/Android). If there is no internet at your location, consider the timer version (Ufeed50TSMini), which works fully offline.
What is the maximum kibble size?
From 1 to 5 mm — small kibble is dispensed without jamming.
How long does one load of food last?
It depends on portion size and the feeding schedule. Portions are adjusted in 0.5-second auger steps, and an extra hopper can be added to increase food capacity.
Can it feed cats?
Yes. Ufeed50DSMini suits cats, small dog breeds, birds, and fish — as long as the kibble size is 1–5 mm.
What happens during a power outage?
The feeder runs on 12 V. To keep the feeding schedule uninterrupted during outages, you can connect a 12 V uninterruptible power supply (UPS) — also available in our catalog.
What type of food is suitable?
Dry kibble only, sized 1–5 mm. Ufeed50DSMini is made from premium German plastic and is ideal for birds, fish, and small cats or dogs. Wet food, pâté, or raw food will clog the auger.
Can it be used in shelters?
Yes. The feeder suits small shelters or volunteer feeding stations: extra hoppers can be connected to increase food capacity.
How do I install the feeder?
The feeder mounts like plumbing: the body is fixed to the wall with clamps at 1800 mm height (horizontal section). The kit includes a step-by-step guide with diagrams, mounting hardware, and DC connectors. A video guide is available on request.
Can it be connected to a UPS?
Yes. The feeder runs on 12 V DC, so it connects easily to any 12 V UPS. This ensures uninterrupted feeding even during power outages.
What is the hopper capacity?
The standard hopper holds approximately 1–2 kg of small kibble. You can add one or more extra hoppers made from standard 110 mm plumbing pipe — a detailed installation guide with diagrams is included in the kit.
Can the control unit be moved away from the feeder?
Yes. If the Wi-Fi signal does not reach the installation point, move the control unit to a location with a 220 V outlet and strong Wi-Fi. Connect it to the motor with a 2×1 mm² cable — maximum length 100 metres.
